The role:
To maximise the output of first time right (FTR) quality product, using the teams, individuals, equipment and supporting departments by collaboratively applying efficient improvement techniques in a way that empowers the primary teams.
This role will be on-site full time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximising output, including through reviewing historical production performance, plans, and team dynamics to increase production yield and efficiency.
- Leading by example
- Establishing and/or changing ways of working through procedures, processes and training to improve team performance
- Working collaboratively with others
- Take the initiative to ensure that Process Improvement (speed, waste, delay) is an integral part of the way the asset and shift teams work
- Assist the Team Leaders identify skill gaps and coach the team members to improve
- Cooperate with planning, quality, engineering and new product developments to ensure process improvements are agreed by a multidisciplinary team, enabling efficient, controlled, right-first-time and well-communicated improvements.
- Ensuring that identified ‘roadblocks’ are picked up
- Applying structured methods (centre lining, standardisation, Best Practice, SMED) to resolve these roadblocks
- Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing (PPE) and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role
- Take ownership and be responsible for Product Legality, Quality and Authenticity.
Skills, Qualifications & Personal Attributes
- Experience/or a keen willingness to learn and understand manufacturing and process engineering principles, processes and procedures
- A desire to make improvements that increase efficiency, risk, and food quality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great communication — at all levels
- The ability to give and take constructive criticism in a respectful manner
- Have a working knowledge of Health & Safety
- To take ownership and participate in housekeeping audits (including GMP/5S) and be responsible for issue resolution
- Be self-motivated and a great team player
- Be organised, efficient and methodical
- Be analytically minded and continuous improvement focused
- Be quality focused with a drive to ensure standards are upheld
- Have excellent computer skills, editing procedures, drawing processes and presenting information effectively to multiple stakeholders is a key aspect of this role.
