The role:
We are looking for a new Site Electrical Lead, to supervise the Electrical Engineering Team, creating an energetic and positive work environment, along with providing technical leadership across the portfolio of projects and generation assets.
To provide clear leadership and vision to the team and inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills.
This is a full time role based at our headquarters in Kendal, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provides electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects.
- Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.
- Manages unit and development cost estimations and helps determine affordable and reliable material sources.
- Ensures on-time product development by collaborating with other managers to estimate reasonable and precise schedules and solve problems quickly.
- Streamlines production while meeting compliance and safety guidelines.
- Creates production, quality validation, and evaluation requirements and tests and troubleshoots production dilemmas.
- Establishes technical standards in reviews, documentations, and designs.
- Key Stakeholder in the Projects Team.
- To ensure that the verification and electrical engineering design methodologies support product and safety requirements.
- To ensure that development processes fall within established timelines.
- Act as the Electrical Duty Holder, ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations and overseeing the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation and best practices.
- Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.
- Take ownership and be responsible for Product Legality, Quality and Authenticity.
What you’ll need:
- A demonstrable background within an Electrical Engineering Lead role, evidencing the ability to organise and motivate an Electrical Engineering team to deliver high quality specialist work.
- Experience in setting a strong safety culture across the team, leading by example.
- Recognised qualification in related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as the lead engineer for corporate commercial projects.
- Previous electrical engineering management experience.
- General knowledge of CAD would be an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of national codes and regulations.
