£32,448 – £36,400 per annum dependant on experience (+ Shift Premium £3,426.80 per annum)

The role:
We are recruiting an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation, improvements and fault diagnosis for the whole site. This is a full time shift based role at our headquarters in Kendal.
Working hours will be a rotating shift pattern of ‘Four on, Four Off’ over an 8 week period. The shift pattern averages 37.5hours per week, with regular overtime and weekend working.
Day Shifts = 06:00 – 18:10, Night Shifts = 18:00 – 06:10
What you’ll be doing:
∙ To be the site competent person for all aspects of Electrical Maintenance engineering on site whilst on shift, including all statutory legislation, all regulations and all requirements to ensure safe, efficient and effective site operation.
∙ To carry out repairs, maintenance and improvements in all matters of plant, machinery and controls, utilising effective planning and computer maintenance management systems.
∙ Communicate directly with the Site Shift Electricians and Engineering Manager for ongoing tasks.
∙ Communicate with the production Team Leaders and agree, decide priorities in simultaneous breakdowns.
∙ Respond to direct communication from production, non-production and engineering. ∙ To own the administration and data, including, Electrical logs, use of Engineering Work Requests, and Permits to Work Certificates.
∙ Planned Maintenance Records, Safety Clearance Certificates and Plant Handover documents.
∙ Portable equipment and test certificates, shift reports, up-dating installation schedules and time sheets.
∙ Modify and update hardware drawings and electrical software drawings using printers and peripheral PLC equipment.
∙ Identify stores shortages or falling stock levels.
What you’ll need:
∙ Respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and diagnostics of electrical equipment
∙ Implement agreed modifications to plant to increase efficiency and reduce downtime ∙ Undertake planned preventative maintenance to machinery and plant ∙ Commission and test new installations
∙ Provide information to enable drawings to be modified, updated or produced. ∙ Operate production and non-production plant to enable fault finding
∙ Carry out minor project installation work from initial concept to commissioning. ∙ Be compliant with IET regulation
What we would like you to be:
∙ Must have an electrical engineering background and hold a recognised qualification ∙ 3 years Industrial experience is essential
∙ Strong Fault finding & diagnostic skills
∙ Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering diagrams
∙ Flexible team approach regarding participating in 8 week shift pattern covers out of hours and holiday cover when required
∙ Training in PLC systems beneficial (Allen Bradley, Siemens and Scada systems) ∙ Experience of electrical drive and control systems is beneficial
∙ Good communicator with a helpful and flexible approach/ proactive in self-learning and development
